The European Police Congress is among the most important professional events for internal security in Europe. Senior leaders and decision-makers from the police, security authorities, politics, administration and the courts come together in the CityCube Berlin, alongside a trade exhibition.

A visit from Saarland: Interior Minister Reinhold Jost

One highlight of the fair was a visit by Saarland's Interior Minister Reinhold Jost, who saw the Saarland start-up for himself at the stand and described the solution as promising and worthwhile.

Beyond that, conversations with companies from the security and technology sectors led to possible collaborations.

What we showed

At the stand, visitors could experience the platform live: connecting qualified and sworn interpreters regardless of location, JVEG-compatible billing and infrastructure with servers in Germany.

The conversations focused on use cases in the police and the courts, from traffic stops through interviews to interpreting at short notice in exceptional situations.

Conversations and findings

Direct exchanges with representatives of federal and state authorities confirmed that the need for fast, legally sound interpreting exists everywhere and that the willingness to trial digital solutions is growing.

Those conversations feed directly into the beta phase now under way. Interested authorities can already register their interest in a pilot project.
