Students of computer science and business administration spend a semester working on a real question from lingomatch — in the startup programme run by Triathlon, the entrepreneurship ecosystem at Saarland University in Germany.
In the 2026 summer semester, lingomatch is one of five regional startups in the “Case Study Program: Startup Edition” run by Triathlon, the ecosystem for entrepreneurship, innovation and transfer at Saarland University. In the programme, students from every discipline work in interdisciplinary teams on real questions taken from the companies themselves — directly with the founders, structured across one semester and worth 6 credit points in selected degree programmes.
For lingomatch this is a twofold opportunity: a motivated team brings an unfiltered outside view of our product — and we get to know early on the people who will shape digital public administration and secure communication over the coming years.
Our project team
The lingomatch project team is made up of computer science students — specialising in areas such as software, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data — together with students of business administration. The team is working on a case study we set that is drawn straight from our everyday platform work: GDPR-compliant on-device translation of foreign-language documents for German public authorities. The programme is run in English.
We are very much looking forward to supporting the students as they gain valuable hands-on experience in a startup environment, contribute their own perspectives and work with us on a real entrepreneurial question.
How the programme runs
The programme runs across the whole summer semester — from the kick-off in April to the closing presentation at the end of June:
Kick-off with the startups
Opening event at the Innovation Center: the five startups introduce themselves and their case studies, and the project teams come together.
Methodology seminar
Structured project work, methods for analysis and problem-solving — the toolkit for working through a case.
Midterm with the startups
Progress review at the Innovation Center: first results, feedback from the founders, course corrections for the second half.
Presentation training
The teams sharpen their closing presentations — storyline, visuals, delivery.
Closing session & presentation of results
The project teams present their results to the startups — we are looking forward to the answers they propose to our question.
Why we are taking part
lingomatch was founded and grew up in Saarbrücken, Germany — the link to Saarland University is how we live up to our responsibility to the region. Programmes like this one bring theory and entrepreneurial practice together, strengthen the regional startup scene and give students a direct line to founders — a basis for internships, dissertations or startup ideas of their own.
