A report in the chamber's own journal

saarwirtschaft is the official journal of IHK Saarland, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the German federal state of Saarland. It has a print run of 23,000 copies and goes to the chamber's member companies. Issue 08-09|2026 carries a report on lingomatch on printed page 9, in the “IHK Aktuell” section.

The opening instalment of a new series

With this issue, saarwirtschaft begins a new series introducing young companies from Saarland. lingomatch is the first company to be featured in it.

The issue overview announces the piece as the “start of a new series about young companies in Saarland” and points to page 9. For us, the choice is above all a sign that digital interpreting for public authorities is being noticed as an economic topic in the region.

What the article describes

The report opens with a police operation: an arrest, then questioning — and an arrested person who does not speak German. It puts the number of sworn interpreters in Germany at around 12,000. It then introduces the founder, Florian Crosbie, 36, who holds German and French citizenship and worked as a police officer in France. The idea for lingomatch came to him during an interpreting assignment for the federal police in Saarland.

The article goes on to describe the platform: encrypted audio, video and chat connections, and interpreters who join without travelling — which, it notes, saves public-sector clients money. It reports several hundred interpreters registered, the company based at Halle 4 in Saarbrücken, a pilot project with a security authority in Saarland about to begin, a beta version due later this year, and two investors from Saarbrücken on board since June.
